S.B.A.I. Mondial Assistance (hereafter named Mondial Assistance) takes its responsibilities regarding privacy of customer information very seriously. This Privacy Policy is applicable to any information that is given by you via this website which identifies you ("Personal Information") and explains how we use Personal Information about our customers and how we protect their privacy.

PRIVACY POLICY

What information is collected, for what reasons and for what purposes?   

You are allowed to visit our site and inform yourself about our services without delivering personal information.   

You are given the opportunity to send us e-mails via this site. These messages will be sent to persons within Mondial Assistance and the response to these e-mails is left over to their appraisal.   

If you choose to deliver us personal information such as your names, address, curriculum vitae or any other information that would be useful to us, we will handle these data confidentially in accordance with the present privacy policy and with the current Belgian rules and regulations.   

Mondial Assistance means by ‘’treatment’’ every operation or cluster of operations made using automated processes and applied on personal data of physical persons, such as the collection, registration, modification, removal, consultation, communication and use. 

The "confidential" treatment means that Mondial Assistance treats the personal data in a confidential way conform governing Belgian regulations (law of December 8th 1992, related to the protection of privacy concerning the handling of personal data.  (Belgian Official Journal march 18, 1993), modified through the law of December 8, 1998 (Belgian Official Journal February 3, 1999). 

If you send us personal data, we will store them in our databases and will use them: 
- to answer a question you posed us.
- with regards to improving the quality of our services or information.
- to keep you informed of new services we will offer. 

Giving us personal information implies that you automatically grant us permission to treat these data for the purposes stated above.

Your rights on consultation and rectification

By means of a dated and signed written request, addressed to Mondial Assistance, rue des Hirondelles 2, 1000 Brussels, the website visitor who identifies himself can receive, free of cost, a written version of all personal data concerning him as well as a possible rectification of the data that would be incorrect, incomplete, or irrelevant.   

Using "cookies"

 "Cookies" are small text databases stored on the hard disc of the web user. They can be used by the website administrators in order to recognize and trace visitors and trace their behavior on a site. Mondial Assistance may use cookies in order to evaluate the nature of the site’s traffic and the use of the web site and to improve the design and layout. The software we use does not allow us to seize personal identification information. 

Notice of modification

Every change, modification or update of the general terms applying to the gathering, treatment and  the disclosure of personal information will be reported on this page.

Specific rules that apply to the extranet of Mondial Assistance   

1. Protection of personal data

In the context of assistance and travel insurance, it may be necessary to collect sensitive personal information with regards to the insured person depending on the type of the offered services. Only the necessary information is collected: information that allows evaluating the risks, to administrate the insurance coverage and treat the losses. 

These personal data can be used to manage a request for assistance or loss by the insured for himself or other persons traveling with him. 

The employees of Mondial Assistance have acces to the collected personal information. This access is strictly limited to the employees intervening in the evaluation of risks, the management of insurance policies and the management of losses. The use of these data is limited to the functional value they have for Mondial Assistance’s offered services. 

Medical information is treated confidentially by the medical examiner of Mondial Assistance. 

2. How are the collected personal data secured?   

Mondial Assistance takes all measures needed to ensure the security of personal information collected by means of this and to avoid every loss, abuse, non-authorized diffusion, modification or disclosure. All information is registered and saved in a database specifically created for the sole use of Mondial Assistance.   

When insurance policies are subscribed, the seized information is registered by server security software before reaching us. This protects personal information against possible interceptions. In order to respect our commitments we follow strict procedures concerning the security of data storage and disclosure of personal information to avoid all non authorized access to this information. 

3. Password and access code

The privileged users who were given a password and access code commit themselves to preserve its secret and confidential origin. Every use of the password and access code is made under the responsibility of the user to whom they were entrusted. In case of loss or theft or unlawful use of one of these elements, the user is obliged to give notice of this to Mondial Assistance as soon as possible. This notification has to be confirmed by registered post addressed to Mondial Assistance, rue des Hirondelles 2, 1000 Brussels.

2. This Website

Mondial Assistance owns and operates the website located at www.mondial-assistance.be (named “the website” in these terms of use).   

By accessing and using the Website you the user ("you" or "your") are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions (the "Terms"), which govern your access to and use of the Website. 

3. Ownership and Use of Content

3.1  All text, data, charts, tables, software, video, music, sound, graphics, photographs, illustrations, artwork, names, logos, trade marks, service marks and other material on the Website (the "Content") and all rights in it belongs to Mondial Assistance. You may retrieve and display Content from the Website on a computer screen, print individual pages on paper (but not photocopy them) and store such pages in electronic form on disk (but not on any server or other storage device connected to the network) for your personal use. Content may not be copied, reproduced, republished, downloaded, posted, broadcast or transmitted in any other way.

The name of Mondial Assistance may not be used in any way, including in advertising or publicity pertaining to distribution of Content without the prior written permission of Mondial Assistance. 

6. Liability

If these Terms or any part of them should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable under the laws of any state or country in which these Terms are intended to be effective, then to the extent that they are so illegal, invalid or unenforceable, they shall in that state or country be treated as severed and deleted from these Terms and the remaining Terms shall survive and remain in full force and effect and continue to be binding and enforceable in that state or country. 

11. Conflict   

If there is any conflict between these Terms and any other oral or written agreement between you and Mondial Assistance then these Terms shall prevail. 

12. Events beyond our control

Mondial Assistance will not be responsible for any breach of these Terms caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Mondial Assistance is not responsible for the availability or content of any third party websites or material you access through this Website. 

14. File Download

Certain files of Content may be available for download from the Website. These files of Content are subject to these Terms. 

15. Binding Agreement

During the course of your use of the Website, Mondial Assistance may provide you with a quote for insurance cover. This insurance quote is SUBJECT TO CONTRACT and is not intended and nor does it form part of a binding agreement between you and Mondial Assistance.
